2006 YESS Program

The 2006 Young Engineers and Scientists Seminar (YESS) program for high school students, funded by a grant from Northrop Grumman, will be a project-based program to help students understand the engineering method - the way engineers perform their jobs. In seven sessions from September through January, students will learn how to go from theory to modeling, designing, building, and testing a device to meet a specific need. The structure of the program will be the same as 2005 but the theme and engineering challenges will be different this year. The theme this will year will be renewable energy sources: how to capture, store, transport and use renewable energy. A highlight this year will be a tour of the Northrop Grumman Electronic Systems facilities near BWI airport.

The 2006 YESS seminars will be held at the Historical Electronics Museum, located at 1745 West Nursery Road, Linthicum, Maryland, near BWI Airport

The seminars will begin with free refreshments (ususally pizza or subs) at 6:15 PM. The main program will begin at 7:00 PM and end at 8:45 PM.
