The 2008 Young Engineers and Scientists Seminar (YESS) program for high school students, funded by a grant from Northrop Grumman Electronic Systems, is a project-based program to help students understand the engineering method - the way engineers perform their jobs.
The theme for 2008 will be Translating Technology into Action.
A series of scientific and engineering seminars featuring presenters from The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory, Northrop Grumman Corporation and UMBC will discuss current, exciting new scientific developments and thought provoking current technological problems to engage students in the issues facing today’s modern world.
Hands on activities and exercises will elaborate on the seminars and provide stimulating opportunities to be part of the issues facing scientists & engineers in today’s world.
To register for the 2008 YESS program, please send an email to yess.hem@gmail.com giving your name, school, grade and any alternate email address.
