2007 YESS Program

Don't forget:  The final design competition will be at the Hilton Hotel on January 10, 2008.

The 2007 Young Engineers and Scientists Seminar (YESS) program for high school students, funded by a grant from Northrop Grumman, will be a project-based program to help students understand the engineering method - the way engineers perform their jobs. In seven sessions from October through January, students will learn how to go from theory to modeling, designing, building, and testing a device to meet a specific need. The structure of the program will be the same as 2006 but the theme and engineering challenges will be different this year. The theme this will year will be Engineering in Health Care. A highlight this year will be a tour of the Northrop Grumman Electronic Systems facilities near BWI airport.  Speakers on Engineering in Health Care will be from UMBC, University of Maryland College Park, the University of Maryland Medical School and/or National Institutes of Health.

The 2007 YESS seminars will be held at the Historical Electronics Museum, located at 1745 West Nursery Road, Linthicum, Maryland, near BWI Airport.

To register for the 2007 YESS program, please send an email to yess.hem@gmail.com giving your name, school, grade and any alternate email address.

The seminars will begin with free refreshments (ususally pizza or subs) at 6:15 PM. The main program will begin at 7:00 PM and end at 9:00 PM.
